Certification and Accreditation

HumanTouch guided and implemented the Cyber Security Division (CSD) Certification and Accreditation (C&A) Service Areas, including interfaces with Bureaus, Offices, and other agencies. The tasks included consulting with ITST and developing C&A standards, providing clear guidance on system C&A alternatives, maintaining an up-to-date inventory of C&A systems and packages for all Department of the Interior systems, participating to support Bureau and Office C&A efforts, leading Departmental C&As, and establishing criteria that compliance inspectors could use to validate adherence. The CSD C&A Service Area follows NIST SP 800-37, Guide for the Security Certification and Accreditation of Federal Information Systems, in meeting FISMA and OMB requirements.
